Math Fact and Number Practice
1. Play War using flash cards. 2. Do math facts in Play-Doh or shaving cream. 3. Use dice to add, subtract, or multiply. 4. Do a math fact scavenger hunt for flash cards or numbers. 5. Customize a Jenga game with math facts on the sides. 6. Write facts on balloons and catch them. 7. Put patterns on popsicle sticks and arrange in order. 8. Pick a target number, then think of all the ways to equal that number. |
Sight Word Practice
1. Make flash cards and play Go Fish! 2. Write and spell words in Play-Doh or shaving cream. 3. Turn the lights off and spell words on the ceiling with a flashlight. 4. Build words using letter tiles, magnets, or blocks. 5. Cut letters out of an old magazine and spell new words. 6. Write words in white crayon on paper, then color over with colored markers. 7. Write a word on your mom or dad's back and have them guess what you wrote. 8. Make a word search for a family member to solve. |
STEM Activities
1. Build a tower out of index or playing cards as high as you can. 2. Make a catapult out of popsicle sticks, rubber bands, or other materials. 3. Build a bridge or other structure using toothpicks and mini marshmallows, gumdrops, etc. 4. Take the 100 Cup Tower challenge. 5. Build a Lego structure. 6. Build a newspaper fort. 7. Make a paper airplane and have a family contest. 8. Use spaghetti to make a tower. |
Writing Activities
1. Look at a photograph and write a story to match. 2. Write an alternative ending to your favorite story. 3. Keep a daily journal of the things that you did. 4. Write a letter to someone in a nursing home or a family member who lives far away. 5. Make your own comic strip. 6. Write 3 questions that you would ask the President or your favorite celebrity. 7. Research your favorite animal and write about what you learned. 8. Write about the funniest thing that has ever happened to you. |
